About
My teaching philosophy is based on the belief that language is much more than grammar and vocabulary—it is a tool for communication, self-expression, and cultural understanding. As a Russian language teacher for English-speaking children, I strive to create a positive, supportive, and engaging learning environment where students feel comfortable taking risks and making mistakes. I believe that children learn best when they are actively involved in the learning process, so I incorporate games, stories, interactive activities, and visual materials into my lessons. My approach focuses on developing practical communication skills. Students learn to understand, speak, read, and write in Russian through meaningful and age-appropriate activities. Grammar is taught in a clear and accessible way, often drawing connections between Russian and English to help learners build understanding and confidence. I recognize that every child learns differently. Therefore, I adapt my teaching methods to meet individual needs, learning styles, and goals while maintaining a high level of motivation and engagement. My ultimate goal is not only to help students achieve proficiency in Russian but also to inspire curiosity, confidence, and a lifelong love of language learning.
Experience
My teaching methodology is centered on communicative, student-focused learning. I help English-speaking children acquire Russian naturally through meaningful interaction, engaging activities, and consistent language exposure. Lessons are carefully structured to balance speaking, listening, reading, and writing skills while keeping students motivated and actively involved. I use age-appropriate games, storytelling, visual aids, role-playing activities, and interactive exercises to make learning both effective and enjoyable. Complex grammar concepts are broken down into simple, manageable steps and explained through clear comparisons between Russian and English. My expertise includes: • Teaching Russian as a Foreign Language (RFL) to English-speaking children of various ages and proficiency levels. • Developing customized lesson plans tailored to individual learning styles and goals. • Teaching Russian literacy skills, including reading and writing from the beginner level. • Simplifying Russian grammar and helping students build confidence in using the language in real-life situations.
