As an English and ESL teacher, my philosophy is centered on creating a supportive, engaging, and student-centered classroom where learners feel comfortable expressing themselves and developing their communication skills. I believe that teaching should go beyond simply delivering lessons. It should help students build confidence, critical thinking, independence, and practical skills that they can use in real-life situations. I adapt my teaching strategies, materials, and pace according to each learner’s needs, proficiency level, age, and learning style. I also value patience, empathy, consistency, and positive reinforcement. I encourage students to learn from their mistakes rather than fear them, because mistakes are an important part of the learning process. Through interactive activities, meaningful conversations, and practical applications of English, I aim to make learning purposeful and enjoyable. The Bachelor of Secondary Education (BSEd) Major in English is a professional teacher education degree designed to prepare future educators with the knowledge, skills, and competencies necessary to effectively teach English at the secondary level. Through the program, I developed a strong foundation in English grammar, linguistics, literature, reading, writing, speaking, listening, and effective communication. It also provided extensive preparation in educational theories and practices, including lesson planning, instructional design, differentiated instruction, classroom management, learner-centered teaching, assessment strategies, and the use of appropriate instructional materials and technology.
